Grammy: Wizkid becomes the talk of the day in the world

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, more popularly known as 'Wizkid', is no doubt one of the fastest rising artistes in the Nigerian music industry. He started singing at the early age of 11 in church under the name 'Lil Prinz' before rebranding in 2006; and ever since then, he has been able to make a name for himself in the industry. Wizkid name is now trending after grammy Awards reviewed that Afobeat is the next international sound sweeping pop music. Saying major stars have all featured Afrobeat singers with Wizkid topping the featuring list who signed with RCA Records which became the biggest ever record deal signed by an African Artiste. The afrobeat list was followed by Burna Boy, Mr Eazi and many others who featured in Beyonce's "The LionsKing" project. See the screenshot

Portable Speaks After Getting Double Nominations

 Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, well known as Portable, has made comments after getting double nominations in the 2022 Headies awards. The singer whose song, Zazuu Zeh has been accepted by many music fans on the streets was able to grab double nominations in the ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’ and ‘Rookie of the Year’ categories. Interestingly, the first-time nominee, who hopes to win both awards has celebrated himself, stressing that he worked for it. Sokoto mob burns Christian student alive for allegedly criticising Prophet Mohammed

The deceased, identified only as Ms Deborah, was accused of passing unflattering comments about Prophet Mohammed on campus. The body of Ms Deborah, Christian slain at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Wamako. Irate attackers in Sokoto have just roasted a Christian female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Wamako, witnesses told our correspondent The deceased, identified only as Ms Deborah, was accused of passing unflattering comments about Prophet Mohammed on campus. Following immediate threats to her safety, she was immediately evacuated to the security post of the school, according to a student who witnessed the development and passed its preliminary details to our correspondent. But the mob pursued her to the security post and overpowered the personnel there. The witness’ information has not been independently verified by our correspondent, but a video has already circulated online showing how the student was set alight.
