See the Only Country in the World That is Still in 2013- Culture
Little did some people know that not every nation of the world is using the Gregorian calendar which became popular some centuries ago due to the influence of the Catholic Church.
Well, Ethiopia is one of the few nations with a different calendar system. They are seven years behind the rest of the world. Invariably, this means they are still in 2013.
Their own Julian calendar has thirteen months in a year with a 30-day period for the first twelve months while the last month, referred to as "Pagume" has just five days and six in each leap year.
The African nation which has never been colonized by any country celebrates its new year on September 11 of the Gregorian calendar.
If you're a tourist or business person on a trip to Ethiopia, it means you are traveling behind time. That sounds interesting and the same time, confusing.
They also operate a 12-hour clock system.
On the flip side, it is also pertinent to note that the country is doing well economically as they are the fastest growing on the black soil and the third in the world.
On a lighter note, if there's any mistake you made within 2013 and 2019 that you wish that the hands of time are drawn back for you to correct, I will suggest you migrate to Ethiopia.
